Off the highway, past the Shell,
You’ll find those freight train tracks.
You’re off to someplace, past yourself,
To find what you can never get back.
To find what you’ve tried to lose,
To find your soul intact.
You’re riding free west of Tucson,
On those railway tracks.
West with the Wind
I love this. It captures the feel in so few words of moving and achieving freedom. Nice work.
I should have said before that these would be great lyrics to a song. You should find someone at Prescott to make these into lyrics.
I like the rhythm. It sounds like it could be a forlorn country song.
